If you have recently had Paint Protection Film installed on your vehicle, you may want to keep it in optimal condition for as long as possible. There are things you can to do keep your car in mint condition. Here are some tips to help you care for the paint protection film on your vehicle.

Avoid Touching Paint Protection Film After Installation
After installation, it can take a few days for Paint Protection Film to fully cure and settle. Avoid touching or pressing areas on the film for at least a week. You may notice some bubbling after installation that will smooth out once the film has completed dried and settled. High humidity and low temperatures can affect the timing of the curing process after installation.
Invest in High-Quality Cleaning Products
While you can wash your car less with Paint Protection Film, you do still need to maintain it well and be careful when cleaning it. Avoid automated car washes or using high PSI pressure washers around the film areas. Car wash soap could contain harsh chemicals that can dull or damage the film. Instead, invest in high-quality cleaning products that contain lubrication additives. You can purchase or Gtechniq maintenance products that will do an excellent job caring for your vehicle.

Preserve High Gloss with Sealant
To maintain the high gloss from Paint Protection Film, a sealant should be professionally applied once every few months. Liquid sealants are generally more recommended than paste or cream-type sealants. You can do this yourself, but it may be better to have a professional do it. Improperly applied sealants can collect in the seems between PPF sections and can attract dirt. Additionally, you may accidentally damage the film and potentially void the warranty. Ask us for more information on which products to use on PPF and we will be happy to discuss it.
